The Solution:
NEP designed a casting from the fabricated sample, suggesting low
carbon steel. At a cost of $500 for a pattern, NEP provides an approved sample from the
lost wax investment casting process in 45 days from receipt of the order. The casting was
machined with dimensions having tolerances of +/- .003".
The Bottom Line:
The customer claimed that the cost of $9.00 for the machined steel castings saved them over $90 per piece when compared to their cost of the fabricated and machined part.
